Costumes for Shrek
As in previous years, we have purchased T-shirts for pupils for the base of their costumes. Children who are in year 5 and 6 are welcome to bring in items to add to the T-shirt to form the costume for their characters. For example - hats, ears, tails etc. we are looking for a selection of hats for costumes - straw hats, cowboy hats that we could use if anyone has anything at home that could work.

Tickets for the school performance are now on sale at either Treat Friday or school office. £2 per per adult (under 16s free)

Next week, Year 6 pupils moving to Fowey River in September will be attending a transition day on Thursday 3 July 2025. Fowey River have arranged to collect the children from primary school and will return them to us by the end of the school day. They will also be providing all children on their transition day food at lunchtime so no need to book a school lunch with us or bring a packed lunch!

Well done
Over the last couple of weeks pupils across the school have been taking part in various assessments including the Year 1 phonics screening and year 4 multiplication check. All the pupils were fantastic and approached the task with confidence. Well done!

Sports club next week

Sports day Monday 23 June 2025

Sports day will be taking place in the afternoon of Monday 23 June 2024 at Par Tracks, all are welcome. The activities will start at 1.30pm and will be finished by 3pm. Can we ask all parents/carers to organise collection of children from Par Tracks on this day at approx. 3pm.

Sports day Volunteers
We are looking for some help! We are heading to Par track for the afternoon of Monday 23 June 2025 and need some help transporting the pupils. We have managed to get two minibuses, but that isn't enough seats for all pupils. We are hoping that parents who are coming to spectate will be able to transport some pupils for us. We may also need a couple of volunteers to help keep track of the scores for each team. If you can help us out, please let Mrs Couchman know. Pre-school pupils who are not in on a Monday are welcome to participate in the events but a parents will need to use their own transport and stay with them throughout as they are not in our staff ratios for the day.

Problem Post boxes
This week, we have introduced post boxes in each classroom as a way for pupils communicate with a teacher. Sometimes children find it difficult to report a concern, so the new post boxes will hopefully provide children with a simple way to share a worry. Please help us by encouraging children to put their concerns in the box if they haven't been able to tell someone. It is much easier to find solutions to problems if we hear about a problem sooner rather than later.

Unauthorised absences
Please be aware that all unauthorised absences of 10 or more sessions (1 session is half a day) have been referred to county for a penalty notice. County then decide whether a penalty notice will be issued. We will continue to follow the policy on referring all unauthorised absences that exceed the limit.

Caterlink Survey
Our catering provider value feedback from all stakeholders to help them improve the service they provide and therefore are inviting you to complete a survey. The survey will close on 31st July. Please see link and QR code below for completing the survey. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SXMHL8D
