Lockdown drills
In the same way that we use fire drills to prepare for a fire, we also have to hold lock down drills. The drills are held to keep children safe, and involves locking doors, closing blinds, and sitting quietly away from windows. Next week we will be doing our first lockdown drill of the year. We explain these in an age-appropriate way to the children about what we do if we have to stay safe inside the building, this time we will use bad weather/a storm as a reason.
